Adult Craft Projects for Easter

Hat Pins
Project materials include a small straw hat, hole punch, tacky glue or craft glue, acrylic paint if desired, hat pin or tie tack, craft foam, ribbon, and scissors. Start by cutting and wrapping a piece of ribbon around the hat where desired, and hold in place with tacky glue or a hot glue gun set on low temperature. Use the craft foam to make faux flowers, crosses, or similar Easter-themed designs, and hold in place with the same medium as the ribbon.
Finally, use a tie tack or hat pin to complete the piece, or glue onto a jewelry pin for a beautiful and unique piece that will last for years. If desired, you can use acrylic paint to paint the hat for a more interesting decoration, or paint something special on your hat with a very small brush and some patience.
Decorative Eggs
Egg decorating is not just for kids, either, and this can be a very inexpensive and interesting means of adding decorative accents to your home for the Easter holiday. Dye the eggs much like you normally would for any Easter egg designing project for children. You can do this with food coloring, and it doesn’t take long or a lot of work.
For a more grown up look, use a number two pencil to stencil patterns and designs that match your décor, or are beautiful. Use hot wax and a craft stylus to cover the portions of the egg that you do not want to dye with your first color. Once that color has dried, use a needle tip to scrape the wax from that portion. Next, cover the next section that you do not want to dye, and dye the next portion. You can also use acrylic paint for an easier coloring session.
To drain the fluid from the egg, use a pin or small screw to drill a hole in the bottom of the egg. Allow the fluid to drain completely before moving to the next egg. Use excess wax or a few drops of paint to cover the pinhole in the egg completely. If you are very careful with the finished product, they will last for many years to come, and make great heirloom projects.
Easter Egg Flower-Picture Display
For this project, you will need craft Easter eggs, pipe stem cleaners, craft boa, mini clothespins, craft glue or a low temperature glue gun, felt, scissors, construction paper or stickers, and a pencil. Glue your boa to the egg, to look like grass growing under the egg. Then, use a sharpened pencil, or similar object, to add a hole in the egg to attach the pipe stem cleaners. Glue into place where desired. The pipe cleaners will look like a stem, and will serve as a sort of tripod for your picture.
Once the glue is dry, add leaves to the egg using felt or construction paper cut into basic leaf shapes. You can use a permanent marker or black pen to design veins in the leaves if desired. Glue into place around the base of the stems.
Decorate your egg using acrylic paint or stickers, and be as creative as you wish. Add slogans or sayings, inspirational quotes, or short scriptures that are special for the Easter celebration. You can also paint and decorate the clothespin. Glue into place on the pipe stem cleaners, by adding glue to the end of the clothespin and pressing it into place. Pictures can rest in the opposite end of the clothespin, allowing the clothespin to hold the picture in place for display purposes.
The finished craft will resemble a normal Easter egg, with a flower-picture growing out of it.
